The average price paid for a scrap car fell slightly in September, by just 1%. Though month on month prices took a minor hit, September’s prices are considerably higher than those last year, up by 57% compared to September 2021, which makes prices €105 higher!
The average value of a scrap car is influenced by factors such as, the global demand for scrap metals, any reusable parts, plus the make, model, age, weight, condition, and even location of your car.
About the CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index
The CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index is a rolling monthly index covering the last 13 months. It’s updated monthly using the prices paid for scrap cars at CarTakeBack recycling centres throughout Ireland. We’ve taken into account that cars come in all shapes and sizes, which has an effect on their scrap value, the prices show what the average car would be worth. This means that the index gives a great indication of the movement in the value of scrap cars from one month to another.
Once again, the most frequently scrapped car with CarTakeBack was the Ford Focus! In September the average scrap price for a Ford Focus was €277.
It doesn’t matter what make and model your car is, with CarTakeBack you can get a free instant scrap car quote for any car.
